mist® Gateways provide the authentication beacons to form a mist® network and the “data sink” where data is collected for back-haul to a central server. A Gateway also serves as a data source from an authorized remote source for network and device management and configuration, including over-the-air-firmware upgrades. Gateways can be either fixed or mobile and offer a variety of data backhaul options. Wired ethernet, WiFi, cellular (GSM and CDMA), satellite (Iridium and INMARSAT).
